Do you think that all cops everywhere are bad?

Is grass green?

OK then..

Let me ask you a question. And i need you to bare with me on this. What is a conspiracy?

Conspiracy - a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful

Right. Just being a cop is a conspiracy, let alone all the fucked up shit they participate in. It is why cops are tested for stupidity. If you are working in "law enforcement" and you had half a brain and a moral compass you would kill yourself.

Yeah I wasn't agreeing with you at all and I definitely don't agree with this comment either. Just answering your question.

Sometimes it's purple or blue.

O i like you.

Some cops go along with it so they don't get the Chris Dormer treaten when they try to blow the whistle.

The Thin Blue Line makes all cops bad, even if they’re good

Not sure i get the reference.

What ^ those guys said nailed it

when “good cops” don’t report what the bad cops are doing because of the Brotherhood in Blue, they are just as bad as the actual power abusers because they allow this perpetual battle to wage forward against the very people who pay their salaries and “pay” for their fancy toys.

the whole justice system is a joke. it begins with incentivizing high crime rates so that the police can fund their departments, allowing them to be an integral part and the beginning of the cycle of the system.

it wouldn’t make sense the police would actually want to stop crime because that means no money and free drugs flowing into their pockets.

the vast amount of research that indicates that imprisoning people only adds to the problem and makes it worse for the youth who then turn to criminal activity INCREASING THE CRIME RATE is red flag number one and i don’t know how people can ignore this very basic fact.

Yup! A 'good' cop that doesn't speak up against the 'bad' cops is just as bad! If they do, they get serpico'd. Ergo, no such thing as a good cop.

Do you think that all cops everywhere are bad?

I don't -- or at least, many start their careers with good intent (others, not so much)

Pressure from "brother officers" and the stress and rigors of the nature of the work -- including being hated and/or feared by virtually everyone you encounter constantly reinforces the "US vs Them" mindset... They become bitter, jaded and arrogant in what is unquestionably a soul-sucking job.

Those that can't conscientiously reconcile the hypocrisy and dichotomy they face every day usually quit, or are forced out by their "brothers".

Most who remain are deserving of the negative stereotypes the profession has earned.

Indeed. When considering good and bad, and generalizations of the individual, there are no absolutes.

Do you know of a cop that will turn in their corrupt partner or colleague?

My cousin in England was involved in something similar, but i don't know all the details. I talk to him once every few years. It doesn't happen often, but it happens i'm sure.

Yeah. Internal affairs.

there are bound to be vids/pics of cops doing fun/funny things every now and then, dunno why it seems so inplausable

I've had good and bad experiences with cops where i live. Most of the 'bad' from when i was a stupid kid, or at least looked like one. Most of the good later. There's a lot of youth aggression towards police since there's a natural authority resistance in that age bracket.

I'm 50 and I have never had a bad experience with police officers.

O wow. That is so good for you. Wow, really that is amazing. I just want to hug you. You are so special. You are a special little flower. Amazing. Thanks for sharing that.

I am sure thay your personal experience with cops is indictive of what they do for a living and the objective of the force.

Im so happy you commented with your personal experience. You really added a lot to the conversation. Your life is how every other life on this planet is how every living being human or non human has experienced life.

You are so amazing. Tell me.abiut how you fart gold dust and shit rainbows. Please. Tell me more.

Perhaps your attitude is the problem.

Perhaps you are the problem.

I'm a good person and have never had a problem with police in life. I'm not the problem.

It is interesting that you put good person and never had a problem with police in the same sentence. Did you ever consider that younhave never had a problem with you being white and a female? The most privilaged class in the US? Did you ever consider that?

I don't buy into the whole white privilege nonsense.

Of course you dont. Being the most privilaged class, you wouldent be happy living your life if your recognized just how shut in you really were.

I choose not to recognize. I dont beleive in that. Things over there arnt really thay bad.

All thinks a person like you says. A person with no experience, who thinks the world is their oyster. Who gets to live a good, pampered life.

Which is great, is everyone got to love like you.

Dude.. you are the problem 😂. As soon as someone comments about a different experience with police than you have, you immediately pull the “you have white privilege” race card and go off on your own little victim mentality/ poor me rant lol. Grow a pair and stop being a fucking bully to people with different views that you. The whole “feel bad for me” thing gets really annoying to read. People like YOU are DEFINITELY the problem bud :)

Recognizing races that were discriminated againt or classes of people deiscriminated against and how our cultur and society works is not a problem.

You should recognize your petulance.

Do you know what petulance means? Its not a common word and i suggest it should never be used in refrence to other redditors unless you are sure of their imaturity or that they are a child.

I suggest the stain you will make on society should be kept to itself. The less of a mark on society your cespool of genes can make would be great.

I appreciate cooperation in ending your line. Thank you.

You're spreading a stain like a dog dragging its ass on the carpet, you've shouted down anyone who doesn't agree with you. You make personal attacks over a thought out response.

Now you're spouting eugenics bullshit, yeah petulance is the correct term. You're an actual child.

I don’t ever say it. Have you heard of tweedism? Do you know any police? Are you familiar with American politics. Unless you are a complete shut in and have never known any black people or looked at any statistics in jail time for women or their ability to get to keep their kids, then your ignorance is absolutely inexcusable.

Did you ever consider that younhave never had a problem with you being white and a female?

I don't buy into the whole white privilege nonsense.

Neither do I, but his "white and female" point is substantiated by the data on those killed ("justifiably" or not) in encounters with police.

From CDC data - 1999-2106 7,932 people were killed in what the CDC calls "Legal Intervention" AKA: killed by cops. This figure includes all age groups, all races and both Hispanic and non Hispanic US residents.

  • (Please bear in mind that I am presenting FACTS as provided in the CDC's Mortality Database. Based on outcome (in this case, Death vs no Death) the figures show that, on the whole, striking disparities exist when Law Enforcement Officers interact with the public -- AND -- that the outcomes of these interactions tend to vary radically depending various identifiable characteristics (sex, age, race, behavior, etc) of the person or persons with whom LEO's are interacting. Below I take a stab at understanding "why" these phenomena may occur, but in any case, the figures presented stand as a testament in and of themselves)

Total LEO Involved Civilian Deaths: 7,932

MALE vs FEMALE

Of the 7,932 total deaths LEO caused deaths 1999-2016, 7633 (96.23%) were Males; while only 299 (3.77%) were Females. The rate at which Males died at the hands of police was ~0.29/100k, whereas Females died at a rate of ~0.01 /100k. Males were over 25 times more likely to be killed by police than females.

RACE - Males:

1999-2016, Black males were killed by police at a rate of 0.59/100k (n. = 2060); whereas White males were killed at a rate of ~0.24/100k (n. = 5256). Black males were killed by LEO's at 2.46 times the rate of White males

RACE - Females:

1999-2016, Black females were killed by police at a rate of ~0.017/100k (n.= 65); whereas White females were killed at a rate of ~0.009/100k (n. = 214). Black females were killed by LEO's at 1.88 times the rate of White females (it is interesting to note that Asian/Pacific Islander Females were killed at a rate of ~0.005/100k (n. = 8), or about half as often as White females - whereas American Indian/ Alaska Native Females were killed at a rate of ~0.035/100k (n. = 12), twice the rate of Black Females.

You were saying...

I don't buy into the whole white privilege nonsense.

Neither do I, FWIW.

Indeed, I suspect that further investigation would reveal that the astounding race and sex disparities shown above (we didn't even touch on age groups) in LEO actions/reactions is largely predicated on the threat level as perceived by the LEO, which in turn is based on A) behavior of individuals; B) situational conditions (location, time, activities of bystanders, etc), and; C) prior history of interacting or witnessing interactions with persons that fall into various categories (as described above).

Yes, utilizing such perceived parameters to assess potential threats in a given situation could be (and has been) called "prejudice" and "profiling" and "racism" and much worse, but it is an inherent part of nature - a survival instinct that is present not only in humans, but in most higher life forms.

Consciously or subconsciously, we ALL make decisions based on similar assessments on a daily basis. EG: You are alone, returning to your car in a largely deserted parking garage late at night. The doors of two elevators open at the same time - both going UP - where you need to go. Inside one elevator are four young black men; in the other, are three elderly Asian women and two young children... Which group would you be inclined to "join for the ride"?

Finally, above you said:

"Perhaps your attitude is the problem."

You're partially correct, but the reality is that judgements are NOT only based on the "attitude" and behavior of any given individual, rather, they are -- and MUST ALSO BE -- based on the "typical" attitudes and behaviors of all others of your sex, race, age group, and more... as perceived by those with whom you and I and all of us interact.

Nature sucks at being politically correct.

:-)

Take that SJW virtue signaling shit elsewhere.

That was a bit much. Not your comment obviously.

Sincerely, I believe you are very fortunate in regards to interactions with police. I have seen the local force's change in attitude over the past twenty years. The older guys tend to be polite to me, but in the past 15 years, I have only had a handful of positive or neutral interactions with them. The younger ones around here are very aggressive and tend to overstep their bounds.

I'm told I look young for my age, but being called "son" or "kid" by cops in their twenties is usually a bad outlook for the interaction for me.

Still, the response to you was unwarranted. Though I must admit I'm jealous of your fortune with the topic!

Thank you for being so kind! 🙂

Of course. You're not trolling or just being a jerk. You gave your experience. Were all here to share and broaden our perspectives.

Typical tard! Has to start insulting people who dont agree.

For real though lol. Idk why you’d be down voted for calling him out

I could hear you scoffing and huffing typing that first sentence. 😂

After reading the comments I'm scared.

Thank you! I’ve been noticing almost every day we see some bootlicking bull shit on r/all. I think it’s astroturfed. I don’t have proof but it all is timely around events when cops shoot people and during all this ICE shit.

I have like ten links over two weeks. I imagin by the end of this year i will have literally hundreds and people will start noticing a problem.

I brows reddit a lot. Every link that hits r/all i copy and paste in a thread.

This shit makes me sick.

I would be okay with it if for every post they had a an equaly emotion wrenching post about what cops actually do.

Cops are bodyguards for the elites while they run their agenda, ultimately.
In saying that, there are some people who join because they genuinely want to do good for their community....

IM A COP KILLAH, BETTER YOU THAN ME! COP KILLAH, FUCK POLICE BRUTALITY!

Yup! A 'good' cop that doesn't speak up against the 'bad' cops is just as bad! If they do, they get serpico'd. Ergo, no such thing as a good cop.
