What's up with /r/neoliberal?
1 2018-06-27 by autopianfuture
I saw their post on /r/starterpacks, and I noticed that they have a daily discussion thread with thousands of comments in it every single day but only a few upvotes. I rarely see this amount of comments even at the top of /All.
I also noticed that /r/centerleftpolitics (who also posted in starterpacks) does the same thing but with less comments.
Are these subs organic?

No, check how fast they grew.
Also theyโre all probably shutting their pants because their big large food is lost tonight or a socialist, so any of you dumb mother fuckers that are lurking here that post here.....
HAHA bitch!
1 vaguenagging 2018-06-27
Could it be that the discussion thread is sorted by new by default, thus the lack of upvotes?
1 autopianfuture 2018-06-27
I was referring to the post upvotes, not the comments. I never see this many comments unless a post has 10k+ upvotes.
1 vaguenagging 2018-06-27
OK, how about the possibility they don't mindlessly upvote every post?
1 autopianfuture 2018-06-27
But why do these threads get roughly the same amount of comments every day? https://www.reddit.com/user/jobautomator/submitted/
Every other post on that sub gets nowhere near the amount of comments. It's a bit weird.
1 vaguenagging 2018-06-27
Given the similar ideological slants of the subs in question, I'm certain your suspicion is purely partisan.
1 autopianfuture 2018-06-27
I'm not sure what you mean.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-27
They are probably 99% turff, What is being done is the creation of a false "public," dialog record, this as if there is no record of the fakery itself. Non verifiable users plus copy-cat and near copy-cat comments.
1 aalbarez 2018-06-27
For what reason?
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-27
Political of course and linked to the current and highly questionable one party U.S. government.
1 whynotdsocialist 2018-06-27
They want to extinguish progressives from the Democratic party.
They feel like Bernie Sanders & his mass of followers that registered as Democrats are a threat to them staying on the corporate lobbyist gravytrain.
Long term establishment Dem incumbents would rather lose junior seats & the presidency to Republicans than risk progressive gaining even more steam & taking their senior positions which means big corporate bribe money for them.
They went so far in Nevada that the Dem party executive board members elected themselves to those positions "For life". Essentially they either die & the other members reappoint the new replacement or the member relinquishes their position to an approved member.
They did this by an early vote held before the Nevada "Democratic" Convention.
The DNC is trying to rewrite history & pretend 2015/2016 never happened.
They were caught funneling donations from the state parties to the Clinton Victory Fund in the hopes that if she was elected they would get it back.
It also allowed Clinton a loophole around election fundraising laws.
1 Frnzlnkbrn 2018-06-27
Most weekly discussion threads are like that from what I've seen. Check any subreddit ever.
1 autopianfuture 2018-06-27
Except these are daily threads, not weekly, and do you mind linking the ones you've seen that also regularly get over 4,000 comments per day?
For example, this sub has a featured documentary thread with just under 300 comments after 5 days. That seems pretty normal to me. 4,000-5,000 comments every single day does not seem normal. Especially on a sub that small.
1 Frnzlnkbrn 2018-06-27
Hmm it is weird. Thousands of comments in thread and few upvotes. Probably lots of people leaving comments but few readers?
1 ClF3FTW 2018-06-27
yup
1 thebowski 2018-06-27
It's a chatroom for contrarian yuppie teens, the outside sub is rarely even considered.
1 stupid-_- 2018-06-27
we used to get 5k comments easily ๐
i still remember the day we got over 9k ๐
1 McPick2000 2018-06-27
It might be a sub used to "age" new accounts that will be used by shills at a later date. I have noticed quite a few of those types of accounts behind the shilling in this sub.
1 autopianfuture 2018-06-27
You might be onto something. Many of those accounts have over 100k comment karma.
1 BainCapitalist 2018-06-27
this is 100% true. i mod there and im selling my accounts. 50 Sorosbux a pop.
1 McPick2000 2018-06-27
Rookie. The pros get 50 Sorosbux and a Hillary nude.
1 hidflect1 2018-06-27
That is weird. I'm too lazy but a check of a few poster's record should show if that thread is all they do or not. But if it's so obscure, how do they all know about it? I suppose it might be referenced off a Twitter feed or something else external.
1 Afrobean 2018-06-27
Definitely not organic. It gets brought up sometimes and I've never seen a satisfactory explanation for it, but it's definitely not organic. My best guess is farming karma off each other to make their accounts look like they're active.
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
I don't think they're organic. I'm (real) center left but I see shady topics on r/centerleftpolitics like "why America needs more immigrants" NO, I sympathize with victims of economic oppression and war, but mass immigration has NEOLIBERAL and NEOCONSERVATIVE CORPORATE GLOBALIST ROOT CAUSES (corporate jobs outsourcing, corruption and war forcing people to flee). If you're a real center left person, you would not allow such bullshit (unless you're ignorant/not woke). Of course I don't blame immigrants for bullshit the elites do but let's not let elites get away with it. Kill the root causes without hurting immigrants. :)
As for r/neoliberal, well the whole ideology is a shill dream. Fake ass sub, no one likes NEOliberalism (it's so fucking close to corporate fascism). Well except ignorant self identifying "conservatives" who fell for Fox News-style new wave "conservative" talking heads on TV that just push NEOliberalism re-packaged as regular "conservativism". Lib and con meant something different decades ago, I think closer to centrist, not far right corporatist bullshit. There was more balance back then (FDR/JFK).
1 episcopaladin 2018-06-27
lmao
1 pianist_for_kicks 2018-06-27
what do you call "center" if you think Hillary is 'far-right'
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
Bernie and FDR.
1 pianist_for_kicks 2018-06-27
Bernie and Hillary's platforms were super close. How do you reconcile one being 'centrist' and the other 'far-right'?
Also many Nordic countries embrace free market capitalism in the same manner Hillary does, perhaps even more so, given their reliance on oil reserves. What about them do you consider 'centrist'?
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
In the shortest explanation, Hillary was a warmonger NEOcon and wallstreet NEOliberal shill with corporate superPACs. Corporate media falsely gives the impression that they're both left wingers (just because of a few similar social issues), and falsely implies Trump/Clinton are polar opposites, when in fact they're fairly similar in having crap corporatist and interventionist policies and donors with conflicts of interest.
1 pianist_for_kicks 2018-06-27
Ehm, well, more accurately, she is likely a liberal interventionist. Not the same thing. Neocons generally hold socially conservative positions.
These are just buzzwords lmao. I would definitely not call her a neoliberal since she's not very pro-free market (domestically). She radically differs from the neoliberal school of thought from the Reagan era, so I have no idea why you have connected the two other than by thinking of 'neoliberal' as a cussword for 'not a socialist.'
...
wow you're a whole level of detached from reality, aren't you
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
Clinton: Break up banks to big to fail?....nah, just give them a slap on the wrist. "Just knock it off" Wallstreet speeches? I've never heard of this wallstreet. Hahaha. We came, he saw, he died. HAHAHAHA. O_o yeah she's a reaaaaal keeper.
Bernie: break those motherfuckers up and regulate them better, stop funding bullshit wars for profit, and fuck wallstreet.
Pretty sure Obamacare is expensive cronyist and neoliberal profiteering garbage, while Bernie wants single payer, vastly more efficient.
Your neoliberal sub is trash, pure establishment puppetry. We know there's a shill brigade.
1 pianist_for_kicks 2018-06-27
I would hardly call the fallout of the financial crisis a 'slap on the wrist'.
Do you expect a paid speech (that she gave as a private citizen) to be "FUCK OFF GLORY TO CHAVEZ, I WANT SOCIALISM IN THE U.S. DOWN WITH CAPITALISM!"?
Wall Street is fine, this hysteria is complete bogus.
Again, just a liberal interventionist kind of sentiment. Qadafi was a horrible, horrible leader.
Except he had no plan to. It was a populist sentiment to rile up the crowds with absolutely nothing to back it up.
Sounds like a good way to fuck America. Wall Street is essential to the wealth that America as a whole has accumulated. 'Fuck Wallstreet', like Bernie, is just a populist meme.
Oh, okay. Glad your personal opinion on an extremely huge piece of legislature with huge consequences for the entire country can be boiled down in one sentence. I feel like there's a pattern here...
All I hear is REEEEEEEEEEEE.
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
All I hear is strawman and lies. Slap on the wrist was about Shillary's attitude towards banking regulation. Lol Chavez's state capitalist authoritarian government, which you call no capitalism, which you also call socialism, interesting strawman.
Is that neoliberal urine trickling down yet? All I see are millions of poor people in a supposedly rich country. We both know this conversation is a waste of time, because you're fake and your ideology is twisted.
1 pianist_for_kicks 2018-06-27
Every socialist country apparently stops being socialist when it fails. Which they do every time.
1 ClF3FTW 2018-06-27
apparently universal healthcare, literally handing out free money, and open borders are far-right positions now lmao
1 CasinoReality117 2018-06-27
Globalist parasitism is far right. Muh "free shit" meme. Guess workers don't work for their taxes. Lol this crap coming from a neoliberal who wants free shit for corporations CRONYISM. Nice little brigade here. I should waste more of my time replying to fake people with a corrupt agenda.
1 ClF3FTW 2018-06-27
please do, you can't change the minds of bots
1 theWebhobo 2018-06-27
Explain the plan to break up the banks and how that would benefit the average American please.
1 Sollezzo 2018-06-27
Gotta be fake, no one would unironically identify as a "neoliberal"
1 ThatOtherGhost 2018-06-27
Such a fucking dumb sub. I can't believe reddit lets these bot farms continue.

I've never heard of this "soros money" you admittedly take. Would you please explain in further detail so I can understand? Thanks.
1 Tytos_Lannister 2018-06-27
basically i shill for the nwo and soros pays me, as simple as that
1 FuturesaurusRex 2018-06-27
We just like memes
1 NotSuperSharpShot 2018-06-27
I agree with people here that its probably used to age accounts, but I think there are defiantly real shills in there as well. Maybe they are training shills on this sub to then use around reddit?

Look at these bots!
1 lenmae 2018-06-27
The reason the discussion thread is downvoted is that the sub started as a spinoff to /r/badeconomics, where it's tradition to downvote the discussion thread. This has a view reasons but was mainly to stick it to the mods, which were very strict in their enforcement of the rules.
The tradition was continued in /r/neoliberal, but as the sub grew larger than /r/ BE, because it was more focussed on memes, and not so much on the technical analysis of random Reddit users, the DT grew, toom and therefore, there were more comments in the DT.
