If the north is the bastion of progress why is it still widely segregated? Are race based policies somehow progress?
1 2018-07-02 by RMFN
To start here are several examples of literally thousands of the extreme white privilege and structural racism present in northern society.
"In the last month, parents at the $45,485-per-year private school — which counts David Schwimmer, Christy Turlington Burns and Sofia Coppola’s offspring among its pupils — became aware that Director Philip Kassen would place minority middle-school students in the same homerooms come fall.
They also learned that the race-based placement policy had already been in effect for the 2017-18 school year for 7th and 8th graders, and would likely be expanded to the 6th grade in September.
Each grade, which has approximately 40 students, has two homerooms. Students remain with their homeroom groups for 30 percent of the school day."

Can Gentrification Be Illegal? A lawsuit alleges that Washington, D.C., illegally wooed "creative-class" millennials at the expense of longtime residents. Others argue, "this is not a conspiracy. This is capitalism.”

If the north is a bastion of "progress" why are we seeing segregated graduation commencement ceremony's at Harvard? Why are private schools segregating children by race? Why are we seeing urban business's like Starbucks kicking black men out of their stores for looking wrong. Why is the north south racist?

Waiting on OP’s SS for the conspiracy part, thanks.

A self post does not require a SS, fyi.

The conspiracy is that rich inner city liberals force rural southerners to do what they don't want to do, integrate along class and race lines.

Do you support segregation or the right to segregate?
1 accountingisboring 2018-07-02
We have the same issues here in my town. Charter schools are predominately white. I am not clear on the acceptance processes, but I know they get special funding aka better schools.
Gentrification of older minority neighborhoods are being scooped up by wealthy millennial's for pennies. They have access to special funding to rehab the homes from the Historical Foundation. Not that the original inhabitants do not have access to this same funding, they just don't have the means or ability to secure the rest of the funding it takes to rehab the homes.
Once the rehabs are complete, the property values increase, pushing the minorities out of the neighborhood as they can no longer afford the taxes. Multiply this across many minority neighborhoods throughout the city and they are left with no place to live. They are pushed to the outskirts of town, which have no access to public transportation. No transportation leads to not being able to get to work back to the very neighborhoods they once called home.
It's a terrible situation and I do not know the solution. What I do know is they scream "progress and equality" yet they are pushing out the very people they claim to care about with little regard of the outcome.

That's happening where I'm at to with people buying up those neighborhoods. Also businesses are buying up those also.
1 accountingisboring 2018-07-02
Yeah, a lot of businesses too.
It's great to revive old neighborhoods, but at what cost? I feel bad for these people that their families have lived there for generations now no longer being able to keep their family homes due to skyrocketing property taxes.

I do too. People say they want more diversity in today's world but to me it looks like whomever wants to push poorer people out so they dont have to deal with them.

Diversity for the but not for me. Makes me wonder why Israel has a border wall and doesn't allow mixed race marriage.
Did you know they? Jews cannot legally marry non Jews in Israel. It's the that a bit backwards? Should they not be more progressive?
1 Squirrelboy85 2018-07-02
That I did. But is it backwards. I believe what they want is for more people/couples to turn towards religion again. I why people can fear or be upset at the progressive movement because to me they want to turn away and advance from organized religion. Imo

Who made the initial claim that the north is a bastion of progress?
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
New Yorkers.
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
I've never heard this before; where can I read up more on New Yorkers claiming this?
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
The New York Times?
You don't think Broadway or wider New York is a center of what we call "progrssive"?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
It seems like a strawman, honestly. What do I know, I went to a 'progressive' school in the south.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Where in the south?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
NC, still seems rather southernish.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
On the coast or in Appalachia?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
Easy stalker, you get no more. Feel free to PM if you're that curious
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Lol. Okay, fellow southerner. I believe you.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Yeah come in with anecdotes and run and hide when asked to clarify. If you lived in a rich urban center I'm sure you had a "progressive" school. Real rural southerners don't have the finding for dandy inner city and the "progressive" schools of Suberbia.
So you can't say more than "my school in the south was pretty progressive".
Did kids have guns in their cars at your school? They did at mine. Lol. No school shootings either. imagine that.
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
Funny how you use anecdotes yourself in the process of criticizing anecdotes
Notice how I didn't clarify my school. Could have been high school, college or beyond. Yet you took off and ran with it. Interesting.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Lol? So now you didn't go to a "pretty progressive school"? Was that a lie?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
Oh I did; you assumed high school though and I didn't. That's why I find it curious.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Well what was it you went to a progressive pre school? Why don't you ever make a claim that you can't squirm out of? Do you have any actual convictions? Do you actually stand for anything?
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
Easy now kettle. No need to go with the Q line of questioning.
There is nothing I can say that will make you believe that I went to a progressive school. Like I don't believe your claim of kids having guns. We're at a standstill.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
Then you obviously didn't go to school in the south.
1 PuzzleheadedBiscotti 2018-07-02
Believe what you friend, I think you have a few more agendas to go push. I'm still waiting on the HRC quote.

Lol? Okay... Her campaign chairman led an organization with "progress" in the name. She doesn't stand for whatever "progress" means from day to day?

That's not NY, you silly goose. Also, I want your exact quote from her, please, that the north is the bastion of progress. Else you made a fake claim.

Integration isn't "Progress". IMO "integration" as well as immigration into Western countries in general is intended to weaken and eventually destroy western societies.
That's the real conspiracy here.

Like other animals, humans tend to self-segregate.
This is demonstrable, and perfectly natural.
1 RMFN 2018-07-02
That's problematic.
