My debate with my father

I've been debating this with my father, he really believes this. Read my last conversation and tell me your opinions, do you believe this flat earth conspiracy?

Firstly: Love that meme.
Secondly: Sorry about your dad.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
Cant take credit for the meme got it off google to text it to him!
1 abrooks1125 2018-07-29
Your dad can't even type in coherent sentences, so it doesn't surprise me he believes the earth is flat
1 Muadib_Muadib 2018-07-29
Yeah your dad is confused and has watched one too many yt vids. Glad you are not as ignorant as he is. Now i want to ask my dad what he thinks. Any one able to talk to ghosts?

Yeah, I wish they were fake texts, these are very real texts
1 56hhj 2018-07-29
Damn lol. Sorry you have to deal with that then.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
It is what it is, I try to not bring it up but sometimes I just have to because I can't believe his theory
1 bittermanscolon 2018-07-29
I had to stop debating family and bite my tongue. It's not worth the damage I can do. I find it hard not feel let down by people who haven't seen enough evidence yet for it to go click.
I keep all the usual banter for others who want to chat and want to discuss. Family just stays in that family realm and that's that. Consider that no relationship with your father is not preferrable to being right.
Well, maybe for you you guys can still be pals and debate. That would be neat. Don't see that too often. Hope it all works out.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
We generally get along, until I just have to be like, what? You believe were on a frisbee?
1 op-return 2018-07-29
It's not a Frisbee. it's a realm. it's not a planet. stop comparing earth, with little dots in the sky.
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
Your dad sounds pretty smart.
Sounds like you're just engaged in hero-worship with Einstein, who was a Zionist fraud that didn't have an original thought, let alone a genius one.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
GPS would not exist without special and general relativity nor would it function on a flat Earth. No flat Earther can tell me how GPS works on a flat Earth.
The lack of a model is kind of weird too.
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
Lol, assuming you possess an even basic understanding of what you call "special and general relativity." If only people were as skeptical as the Jewish fairy tales they are taught as cosmology -- with no backing evidence.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
You runaway from explaining how GPS works faster than Trump ran away from the draft.
1 BiscuitAnger 2018-07-29
No backing evidence? What about the precession of Mercury’s perihelion? How can you possibly explain that without General Relativity?
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
You can't explain it anyway, without hand-waving and appealing to authority.
1 BiscuitAnger 2018-07-29
What’s hand waving or an appeal in this:
R_mu_nu - 1/2 R * g_mu_nu + Lambda * g_mu_nu = ( 8 * pi * G / c4 ) * T_mu_nu
?
This is an incredibly simple formula. It’s solutions form several other more specific formulas but they all derive directly from this using the basic rules of algebra and calculus.
From this, I can tell you with 100% accuracy where Mercury will appear in the sky at any particular time. Until Einstein, no-one could do that from a formula. They knew from observation but they couldn’t explain why.
His simple formula - which had nothing to do with Mercury when he derived it - perfectly explains this millennia old mystery.
The best part is that you don’t an authority to believe this. You just need to look up at the sky, take some measurements, then do some math that takes a little patience but is absolutely within the grasp of anyone with a high school education.
That’s it. That’s all anyone needs.
Now you tell me what’s handwaving about a prediction that provides 100% accuracy 100% of the time.

Einstein was the smartest human to ever live. What he was able to imagine is mind boggling.
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
No, he actually was a fraud, figurehead, and actor; sorry. Didn't even come up with E = mc2.

My only question to you, who would benefit from all this? Conspiracy usually have a money trail, or special gains for someone or group. Who would benefit about lying that the earth we live on is a frisbee? And Einstein being a fraud?
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
Other people can answer that better than I can. Recommend listening to an interview with Edward Hendrie or Eric Dubay. Long story short the point is not the shape of the earth, it's that we're not in a void of outer space evolving on a spinning rock but there are those who would rather us all think that instead of realizing we are in a created, enclosed system.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
Ok, lets say the flat-earth conspiracy is true. How do you explain all the worlds countries agreeing to lie to there people. The United States and Russia, China, Iran can't even agree to who can do what. The Soviet Union during the cold war would surely have thrown the US under the bus if they knew this was a hoax. The world powers cant even agree on trade agreements, I find it hard to believe they get along to keep this a secret.
1 whenipeeithurts 2018-07-29
Geopolitics is a show. They are all literal actors. None of it is real. The reason for the lie is to hide the truth of the King James Bible. Genesis is the real creation story and all the world is run by Lucifer and his his principalities and powers. That's why it's so coordinated.

Repent and believe this to be saved:
1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
I just can't debate it, so at this point it must br the illuminati? NWO? Who control all of the world? Thats my fathers answer to all of it.
1 whenipeeithurts 2018-07-29
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2Co_4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Luk 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
Luk 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
Luk 4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Satan (aka Lucifer) and his devils are the ones who control this fallen world.

His equations don't even work out. To the point where you have to add 96% dark matter and dark energy. You might as well believe in the virgin birth. All bs. Scientific goboligook. Einstein was a fraud. Not only that, but he had not a single original thought
Curved space was thought of by Bernhard Riemann. Adding a 4th dimension that of time to geometry to create "space-time", by Hermann Minkowski. The idea that objects contract in proportion to the speed that which that they move, by George Francis, FitzGerald. The notion that the velocity of light in a vacuum was constant regardless of the motion of any object connected with the light ray by Hendrik Lorentz. Was he the first to bring up the impossibility of measuring light through the ether, after the Michelson Morly experiment null results? No! That was actually Henri Poincare. Did he even come up with the name relativity? NO! that was Poincare. How about no velocity can exceed the speed of light? Nope! Poincare! How about that whole clock business? you know, the fact that if you go at the speed of light, you age slower than if you stood on earth? NOPE That was actually Sir Joseph Larmor. Was he the one who came up with matter crinkles curved space? sorry to say no. That was actually William Kingdon Clifford. okok.. what about E=MC2? nope. J. J. Thomson came up with E = 3/4 MC2 and then later on our buddy Poincare came up with E=MC2 when he spoke to mass density in relation to energy density. I can go on and on...lets not forget all the shit he stole from Oliver Heaviside. Dude was a piece of shit. A simple propaganda tool. A patent clerk with no math background. A tool alright.
1 longshotdark 2018-07-29
I am going to make a statement that is true.
You have allowed yourself to be inaccurate about what people actually thought of Einstein at the time. Anyone who followed physics knew the history and knew Einstein didn't develop everything in a vacuum. Same thing goes for today. The history of physics is taught to students every day. They show the predecessors of Einstein that Einstein developed his theory on.
Now I am going to point out that even with your own little rant here you are wrong. Thompson didn't purpose e=3/4mc2 and poincare had his theory completely off base as to what e=mc2 meant. Couldn't connect it to any actual mass.
What Einstein understood that none of those people you mentioned could wrap there head around was that mass directly equals eneryg. Mass is energy. It was a completely radical approach to the issue. The rest of those people were attempting to create equations showing how much energy there is when effects such as inertia or heat or electromagnetism etc is applied to mass. All the while we're missing the forest for the trees. Mass is energy directly. There doesn't have to be anything applied to it.
You have went off the rails in your own mind. Einstein was a fucking genius. He was able to use imagination to put it all together. Obviously there are people that came before that he used their studies and data to come to these conclusions but ultimately they are his conclusions because they all had the puzzle pieces but none were smart enough to put the puzzle together.
Rethink yourself.
1 op-return 2018-07-29
If he was so smart, why was he fucking his cousin? No math background patent clerk. Might as well been a bank teller.
1 longshotdark 2018-07-29
Lol I wrekt your shit so you deflect to those kinds of arguments. This debate is done and you lost. Anyone that reads this is going to understand that fully.
1 op-return 2018-07-29
Hahahahhahaha you're hilarious. You had no reply so you had to claim victory? Tell yourself whatever you want sweet cheeks. Now piss off.
1 swagmanerer 2018-07-29
If this wasnt from /u/Joe_jaywalker I would believe it to be sarcasm.
But now I am not sure anymore.
1 op-return 2018-07-29
Bingo!!! all because of a pesky little experiment by one Michelson and one Morley. Suddenly, to deal with that monkey wrench dropped in the Copernican model, you have to believe in dark matter, and dark energy, and fabric of space time AHHAHAH and worm holes, and utter nonsense, with no proof, just math formula, (math is NOT reality!) you might as well believe in the noah's fucking boat with giraffes in it.
1 Nballsdeep 2018-07-29
I'm thinking NASA needs to hire the film crew that made the movie Gravity. They keep getting caught faking scenes and giving the flat earthers more credible arguments.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
For example?
1 Nballsdeep 2018-07-29
When the astronauts were doing interviews a few glitches happened with the cgi sceen for instance they became pixelated but the background was unaffected, another time a guy disappeared before he went around a corner. They've had cables showing when they do flips a few times. I think one of the biggest mistakes is when President Bush was taking a tour of NASA and they forgot to turn off the big monitors which was showing an astronaut in front of a blue screen and the ISS background on the other screen with him in it.
1 longshotdark 2018-07-29
Every bit of that shit had been explained pretty easily.
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-07-29
But not by you, just now.
1 longshotdark 2018-07-29
That was my point. You made a claim and didn't back it up at all. This gave me equal standing to do the same.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
To be honest it isn't like you would listen or view any evidence that goes against you.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
You mean the keyframe errors?
1 swagmanerer 2018-07-29
There is actually not a single credible Argument PRO flat earth.
1 Justsaguy12345 2018-07-29
Your dad sounds like an idiot. He br
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
Yes 100% Does, I guess theres a ton of people out there that to. Crazy that this is an argument in 2018
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-07-29
You dad should look into how GPS works. Once he does that he should see it isn't possible on a Flat Earth.
Lots of flat Earthers say it uses triangulation from cell towers but it doesn't use triangulation...
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
Sadly I have explained that to him, but he still believes in this. I really lost all hope in bringing him back to reality.
1 ahackercalled4chan 2018-07-29
pick your battles bro. some things you just gotta let go of & let people believe what they wanna believe.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
Yeah I think this disagreement will be just that. There's conspiracys out there that make sense, but this one just drives me crazy with how dumb there arguments are. You know its all lies and computer generated pictures/videos
1 whenipeeithurts 2018-07-29
Your Dad is right. You are indoctrinated like we all have been. He's had more time to find his way out.

You have to approach this carefully. You cannot use logic to shift a person who didn't use logic to arrive at their ideas in the first place.
I recommend speaking to him his an open, non-judgmental mind. Try to have a conversation, but don't try to change his mind. Feel free to point out if his ideas are internally inconsistent, but focus more on having him explain exactly what he thinks.
Your father probably gets something out of this belief. Some people feel special for discovering something, or are comforted by the idea that a grand conspiracy can be blamed for the world's problems, or 100 other reasons beyond simple logical deduction. It's this underlying issue you'll have to understand and combat. What need does this conspiracy fulfill in his life, and are there other, more healthy ways, to fulfill the same need?
Until and unless you can address this issue, no amount of logical argument, reasoned deduction, or obvious evidence will be able to change his mind.
1 Qaze430 2018-07-29
This has to be the best thing anyone has said to me to try and address his theory. There's a bunch of people who believe this out there conspiracy, just look through the comments. I will attempt this way of approach, maybe I'll post the results of that conversation.
