The earth is not flat!
1 2018-09-04 by OnePiece-
Crazy right? Take off the tinfoil hats people.. a lot of what people doubt seems reasonable but thinking there is some grand plot in making the entire population think the earth is a sphere when in reality it's flat is just plain stupid.

Why do you care so much if people talk about flat earth? Why do you want to police people's thoughts? To me, that's just plain stupid.

Another "free speech advocate" aka, Flat-Earther.
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
I don't think the earth is flat.
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
State your position then. Is it spherical?
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
Is this the inquisition?
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
No it is a public forum where it is considered polite to answer questions. I could answer his question but I don't feel in this instance it is my place to response for you.
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
I'm not obligated to answering their question. Further, I do not see how it's relevant to my original comment.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
You don't understand why someone might ask your opinion on the shape of the Earth in a discussion about the shape of the earth?
Are you obligated? No of course not. However it does make you look like you would rather argue than have a rational discussion.
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
Not in context to my comment, no. It's irrelevant to my point. I already told them that I do not think the earth is flat.
You're the one arguing about all of this, not me. You weren't even a part of the conversation, yet felt the need to "jump in" on their behalf. Curious.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
It would not have killed you to say you think the Earth is hollow.
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
I think you know why I would ask you.
You've previously stated in other threads that your intention is to argue for BOTH sides of the flat-earth issue... Anyone can see that that's a confusing, and arguably futile contribution to make, particularly when there's an increasing climate of information conflict occurring.
It's an insult to anyone who thinks they're having a legitimate discussion with you when your position is highly flexible.
1 showcdp 2018-09-04
No. Don't be ridiculous
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
Lol.. I don't find being agnostic about the ground you walk on, a moment for celebration..
1 showcdp 2018-09-04
Not a rotating ball. Deal with it.
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
You're taking the place of Sisyphus on this, completely self-inflicted too...
I would prefer to have common ground for obvious reasons, but it'll remain elusive as long as we need to keep cleaning up flat-earther's snapped crayons.
1 Sabertoothsnowhobbit 2018-09-04
Oblate spheroid.
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
We have a winner.
1 hinzmo 2018-09-04
These people are a different breed. It’s ok to believe whatever you’d like, but when you’re constantly coming on posts spreading crap and getting mad when people don’t agree with you or just don’t want to discuss it, then that’s a bit much. I wouldn’t want to police posts, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was highly irritating.
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
Who cares though? You can lead a horse to the water but you cannot make them drink it. You also do not know 100% that your water source is actually good for them or anyone.
1 hinzmo 2018-09-04
It’s not about what they believe, like I said I could care less what they believe. It’s the part where they won’t back off.
1 LurkPro3000 2018-09-04
Who exactly has made you feel like they are pressing on you sooo much that they need to "back off"?
I don't believe flat watch personally, but the folks that do don't bother me at all.
1 showcdp 2018-09-04
Who you calling these people? 😂
1 Austinogg 2018-09-04
Flat earth is a play by 1% its even in the illuminati card game... Don't let the play work just designed to divide the 99% like race wars
1 tiberius_regulus 2018-09-04
What?
1 Herculius 2018-09-04
Pretty simple. What do you not understand?
1 DonnaGail 2018-09-04
What makes you think all of us here think the earth is flat?
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
He isn't saying all, or even most, believe the Earth is flat. But there has been a strange uptick in FE posts over the past 10 or so days.
1 DonnaGail 2018-09-04
Okay. I honestly haven't noticed any FE posts lately. But could have been at times when I'm logged out.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
They tend to get downvoted rather quickly. It is just a few people posting them but they are determined....
1 1-800-GOFUCKYOURSELF 2018-09-04
This subs for all conspiracies and conspiracy theories a like.
Decreeing that the earth isn't flat is actually more of a shit post than flat earth ones ironic enough.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
I don't agree. Saying the Earth isn't flat is like saying 2+2=4 in base 10.
1 ChainedNmaimed 2018-09-04
Your math is solid, however coming to a conspiracy sub that will never be ok with any form of censorship and yelling censor this- is like saying 2+2=purple.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
Given how most of the flat Earthers who are actively posting respond I doubt they care all that much about censorship.
If they FE subgroup would provide evidence and discus it would be different but, as a rule, most of them do not. They have no evidence and even when asked polite questions tend to be rather rude.
If they wish to be treated like they have scientific evidence then they need to produce some - this feelings based approach doesn't work.
1 ChainedNmaimed 2018-09-04
Completely agree, but i dont get why it bothers you so much downvote and move on.
FUCK, orange? Are you sure? Ill have to reconfigure my flux capacitor now.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
I just don't like those who deny reality on such a basic level. It annoys more than bothers most of the time. :)
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
I have also started a low carb diet and posting to reddit every 33 seconds against flat Earthers has helped me get used to it.
1 Jekill417 2018-09-04
"dont get why it bothers you".. You Alpha beast!
1 DarthStem 2018-09-04
No shit. How many pro flat earth posts do you see here on a regular basis?
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
Over the past 10 days the number has shot up. It should fade back down again soon hopefully.
1 The_In-Betweener 2018-09-04
Allowing flat earthers to test their theories should be par for the course for a sub of 'free thinkers.'
Allowing that narrative to become repetitive enough so that it skews the actual beliefs of the sub is something the more vigilant may take arms against.
It just doesn't seem natural imo.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
Except that is something they flat out refuse to do as a general rule. Those that do typically don't remain flat Earthers.
1 apefist 2018-09-04
Pie R not square, pie R round.
1 Sabertoothsnowhobbit 2018-09-04
Pie are better with whipped cream.
1 hinzmo 2018-09-04
Dear god, they insert themselves in just about any post about space and never shut up. I think it’s ok if you believe the earth is flat, but it’s not ok when you’re constantly trying to ram your beliefs down everyone’s throat so someone will agree with you. I actually just made a post about this earlier
1 Sabertoothsnowhobbit 2018-09-04
Even the idea people used to think the Earth was flat only applies for historically short time periods. There are surviving texts were it is obvious they used to know the Earth was a spherical shape.
1 dystopian_love 2018-09-04
What’s the difference between persuading people of your opinion and ramming your beliefs down their throat?
1 snowyz42 2018-09-04
The earth is actually flat.

Funny though we need posts explicitly saying it isn't.

As if you would need make a post denying something that is patently false... lol
1 whenipeeithurts 2018-09-04
Every day we must be reminded that to be a good little conspiracy theorist we mustn't look at the flat earth. That would ruin all the red herrings!
1 snowyz42 2018-09-04
It's here to make conspiracy theorists look bad!
Before flat earth everyone wanted to be a conspiracy theorist!

1 whynotdsocialist 2018-09-04
I think this story got started once r/conspiracy started to get mass traction.
The establishment tries to overload this sub with real crazy shit like 'flat earth' to try & keep middle america from becoming too accepting of r/conspiracy.
1 OnePiece- 2018-09-04
Honestly I have never ever thought of it that way and that's a very very good point.
1 accreditedEditor 2018-09-04
Of course the Earth is not flat!
I walk downhill to go to work and uphill to get back home.
Next week at this time, I will be in the Alps.
1 OnePiece- 2018-09-04
LMAO!
1 Sabertoothsnowhobbit 2018-09-04
Lol My Dad walked uphill to school and then back home.
1 FromMyTARDIS 2018-09-04
The universe may be flat actually, but the Planet is not. All it takes is watching the people who make a mockery ou oft physics on YouTube, to figure this out.
1 whenipeeithurts 2018-09-04
It is though.
1 crazitaco 2018-09-04
If the universe happened to be a hologram then it would techbically be flat
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-04
