I'm afraid we've seen only too well how some emergency drill or other "went live" and turned into the real thing or a situation that we were subsequently told was the real thing that was either false or else contained both faked and possibly real elements used in conjunction with each other to add to our confusion and inability to separate the factious from the real in any efforts to get to the bottom of them, thinking that they must be one or the other.

Yeah I’m CBRN for the Guard and a couple times a year we run through mass exercises with actors.

After what happened during 911 with the drills coinciding with the event, All drills should be grounded out of respect on the day before during and after 911. A healthier Society would have that enshrined in law by now.

Pay more attention not to the situation that the actors are required for, but what possibly happens at the same time, with a similar set of circumstances.

So many of these events have crisis training drills occurring at the same time, or just prior to an actual event taking place. I'm more concerned about the type of actors they're requesting.

I'm an EMT and I participated in a mass casualty drill with a local hospital a few years ago as a patient. There wasn't much to it, it was actually pretty neat. One thing that everyone should keep in mind is that "the system" is very easily overwhelmed.
