Obama signed an EO that allows the CDC to quaratine us without any recourse for as kong as they want, without a hearing or appeal. Trump has not cancelled this EO

The CDC has the power to hold any one of us for under cover of contagion for as long as they want, no need to test us and we can do nothing to stop them or appeal, could be days weeks or months, even force us to stay imprisoned in solitary confinement. We don't even have to test positive for anything. Obama signed the EO shortly before he left office, while believing Hillary was taking over. Who knows what evil she would have used this for, but I don't think Trump has cancelled the EO either.

This is a total nuclear assault on our bill of rights and we have lost our freedom, it all lies on the whims of the cprrupt CDC.

And yet americas ebola patient just goes about their business.

Your tinfoil may be too tight, as others users have pointed out in the thread about the different eo, and how this was already a thing since like the 60s. Your precious bush signed one for sars, obama updated for ebola. It's been a thing forever to keep people safe.

Do you have a source for this possibly? I am interested

Do you have a link to any information about this EO? Because, frankly, this sounds like bullshit.

This is the legal abilities the CDC has. Most of this not-huge quarantine and isolation things are done on a state-by-state basis. That's why during the Ebola scare, New Jersey did one thing (quarantined a nurse at the airport, for example) and New York did another.

My memory looks to be mistaken as both the proposed law and EO came out around the same time in mid-late 2016. They have similar themes and the proposed law doesn't give exact time frames for forced detainment. They will try to push similar in the future, so I'm leaving this up to get others vigilant.

That's the one of only a handful of Obama bills that Trump hasn't tried to undermine/cancel. Hope he gets around to this one and the NDAAs.
I won't hold my breath...

We've been slaves since the creation of the 13th and 14th amendment. If you don't want to go that far down the rabbit hole then look into The War Powers Act of 1941. The "government" can literally do anything it wants with us.

That isn't a new thing, and uarantines are not rare.

I think you are referring to this E.O., during the Ebola flap, which was an amendment to an Earlier one made by Bush during the SARS scare.

I am amused that I found this pretty good explanation at this site, considering recent events and actions.

He signed it fall 2016

Is this what you're talking about? That's hardly what you've described above...

which EO is it?

im not american and dont know a great deal about this but wouldnt fema have the power to do all of that (and more) anyway in the event of a pandemic outbreak or indeed any other situation deemed a national emergency? i thought they had a list of executive orders from the 60s onwards still active but may be wrong

I am not certain because OP didn't provide much information but I think this E.O. is for people arriving into the U.S. from other countries, this EO dated back to the SARS scar and was updated to include ebola by Obama but another user has posted the final regulation in a link from the CDC site.

Executive Order 13747: Advancing the Global Health Security Agenda To Achieve a World Safe and Secure From Infectious Disease Threats

If you are under quarantine and they think you should stay in quarantine then....I want you to stay in quarantine too.

Without testing positive for any disease and healthy they should arrest and detain us for as long as they want without a lawyer trial or hearing, no appeal? I hope you don't vote.

Do you really think the CDC is going to detain anyone without cause?

You are completely off your rocker.

Do you really think the CDC has not been compromised via "regulatory capture" and lies about vaccine safety daily?

CDC is corrupt as fuck.

The pharmaceutical companies certainly are. But I don't think the CDC is completely corrupted. There are a lot of good people still blowing the whistles about corruption.

I don't think the CDC is completely corrupt either. But at least a few and maybe all their top echelon people are.

That seems about right.

What if their "cause" isn't diseased related, but instead you're an enemy of some other division of the state. Like how Obama used the IRS to target Republicans, or various intelligence agencies to spy on Republican candidate elects? Think civil asset forfeiture, or with people being the assets. It's not beyond the realm of possibilities that the Government would side skirt constitutional laws by quarantining you for unrelated affairs.

What??? The government wouldn't just lie to us, especially about their motives.

Did you forget /s , are you trolling, or are you really that naive?

Why not link to the actual text and not a biased news report?

Hard to find MSM sources because they buried it in the memory hole and snoped the scraps.

I do think Trump did end up cancelling the EO but still researching. Scary what Hillary would have done with this. Anyways the fact he pushed for it says a lot

Here's the full text. Can you let me know what area you're talking about? Because, honestly, the parts pulled out in your (biased) link don't seem too shocking to me and certainly don't enact what you claimed above.

"The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act (MSEHPA) is a public health act originally drafted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to aid the United States' state legislatures in revising their public health laws to control epidemics and respond to bioterrorism. The CDC's draft was revised by the Center for Law and the Public's Health, a collaboration between Georgetown University and Johns Hopkins University. By December 21, 2001, the act was released to state legislatures for review and approval. Critics immediately charged that the MSEHPA failed to protect the general public from abuses arising from the tremendous powers it would grant individual states in an emergency. The MSEHPA provisions also went beyond the scope of addressing bioterrorism while disregarding medical privacy standards. As of August 1, 2011, forty states have passed various forms of MSEHPA legislation."

They can already arrest you without trial and keep you confined due to the patriot act. This would just be another route to doing so I guess.

You could say same thing with NDAA act that Obama passed New Year's Eve while everyone is distracted when he said leading up to it he would never do it, it allows detaining American citizens no judge no jury no trial indefinitely, he also legalized domestic propaganda which if trump reversed would probably have a big impact on what's being reported

As kong? Or as donkey kong

While in an area affected by Ebola, it is important to avoid the following:

...

Contact with semen from a man who had EVD until you know the virus is gone from the semen.

https://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/prevention/index.html

Stay safe, folks.

The virus stays in semen longer than other body fluids: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2016/p0830-ebola-virus-semen.html

I can understand why a government would want to be able to do this. If Bongo-Bongo disease breaks out in Brazil with a 100% death rate, you need to be able to quarantine people to make sure the disease does not spread as much as possible. This includes holding people against their will.

Why would any President seek to rescind this order?

I understand citizens trying to rescind this order in the name of Freedom. But why would a president?
