Thoughts on the NFL?
1 2018-09-10 by ZioToons
Watching games I can’t help but feel they’re orchestrated for entertainment. It feels like wrestling. Not even a fan, just a casual viewer. Considering many other things the NFL has tried to cover up, what are your thoughts?

I think it's entirely possible that you're right...

There are a lot of YouTube videos on this actually. Something about the way the NFL uses the referee’s to try and steer games the way they want them to end up. I’ve watched a few and they were interesting.

Any links?

Not anything in particular, just search NFL rigged and you’ll find tons of stuff.

Any time the pats play the jets... or any other game the jets play
The lions usually get shafted too
1 guruft 2018-09-10
Yep. It’s all for betting purposes. To see how humans react when they have the perfect game, up until that last play. ;) anywho i suspect it’s to manipulate certain people in society and see how they handle being in that situation. Having money on the line and what they do in that scenario . For science.

I try not to have any as the entire thing is a general waste of time in my eyes.
1 lowglowjoe 2018-09-10
They killed the real Aaron Rodgers and replaced him with a clone during this game against the bears
1 russianbot01 2018-09-10
They also replaced the bears secondary with buffoons at halftime.

Popular sports are the modern day equivalent of gladiatorial events to appease the masses.

rigged and fake.

Fake and gay.
1 Wulf102 2018-09-10
Fuck the NFL. The only way I'm turning that shit on again is if the owners and the kneelers get down on BOTH KNEES and kiss Donald Trump's ass in apology.
1 1-800-YoureAShill 2018-09-10
Whew lad and if they ever did that they can just replace your boycott with mine.
1 Wulf102 2018-09-10
I've been to a lot of NFL games.
Not a lot of minorities and women in those seats that cost $90+ up for one seat.
1 1-800-YoureAShill 2018-09-10
Oh no... your boycott will make ticket prices cheaper because only white people like football?
Nice.
1 Wulf102 2018-09-10
Only white people P A Y for football.
1 1-800-YoureAShill 2018-09-10
Only morons would believe that lol
1 Wulf102 2018-09-10
They don't take EBT at NFL games.

Modern day bread and circuses. A distraction for the masses.
1 joe_jaywalker 2018-09-10
This. Even if it weren’t rigged and fake, which it is, it’s making grown men paint their bodies, languish in the freezing weather, spend half of their day intoxicated, all so they can cheer and grunt as they watch criminally insane brutes run into each other, with the actual action of the game occupying about 3% of the vast time span wasted in this ritual.

You knew it was a bad omen when they let them bypass the Minneapolis referendum process for the Pohlad's Twins stadium. Of course it would get bypassed for the Vikings, too.
It was shameful the way city leaders fell over themselves to "win" the stadium, letting downtown business types sway the entire debate.
It was also easy to get outstate legislators to override the local referendum. They wouldn't bear any of the local costs, so why not stick Minneapolis citizens with the expenses?
The good news is that we're kind of out of new stadiums to build now that St. Paul got snookered into the soccer stadium. Target Center has been remodeled, the Xcel center is still new enough, Twins and Vikings with their own stadium.
The Pohlads got what amounts to an outdoor bar and grill, they draw baseball fans for the circus atmosphere and the food and beverage revenue and don't even need to bother fielding a winning team.
The Wilfs (convicted swindlers!) at least seem focused on having a winning team for their new stadium. I'm not sure if this is part of a goal of just colonizing the Twin Cities as real estate empire or because they have enough skin in the game that they need to field a contender to keep attendance up enough to make money. They kind of blew their wad with hosting SuperBowl. The smaller number of games compared to baseball may mean that they have less opportunity to make money on food and beverage and thus need consistent sellout crowds.

The Chargers tried to pull that crap in San Diego and the voters said no, so they left. They lost many local fans that stuck with them even when they weren't doing well (which was a lot of the time recently.) More people now follow college football after that.
1 IFuckingLoveTahdig 2018-09-10
It's become a traditional American staple if you will, to the extent that it's more of an entertainment and advertising-oriented sporting event.
Soccer is very similar to a much smaller degree, but it's more organic than American football.
1 Toofast4yall 2018-09-10
I love college football but the NFL is really hard to get into.
1 Kendle_C 2018-09-10
The NFL is dying because there is something un-American about the oligarchical owner cabal. The pay of players is also un-American. It's elitist. These are not gods. Also, the "sky boxes" are further alienating the average American. Are we supposed to sit below the elite Richey Riches? That's not right. It certainly isn't egalitarian nor democratic. There's also the ancient echo of slavery within the draft system. Why are the "Owners" called owners? WTF! Do we have to go pre-civil war all the way to Ancient Rome? Fuckit! We are willing to let it all die because you fuckers have concocted some kind of Oriental Demogogery where we dutifully worship you and your players? Fuck it. It's just not right. You guys are off base, you've lost us. The perfect example is the Spanos organization, little punk leaving a faithful fan base because we wouldn't buy the spoiled fucker a new stadium? Cram it clowney!

I hope they ramp up the military participation. Start having half times really appreciate the military. Get more flags and guns on camera before all of those men pile on top of each other.

Normally I would say no, however very few things with billions of dollars at stake are not rigged in one way or the other.
So I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out to be true. Nothing that involves billions of dollars is ever fair.
1 WORLD_IN_CHAOS 2018-09-10
First they are non profit... Multi billion dollar industry doesn't have to pay taxes somehow ..
And yes, they are all registered as entertainment companies and reserve the right to dictate the outcome of the gsme.. so is it rigged? Possibly.. can they rig it? Yes and without repercussions

"Head on! Appy directly to the forehead!"
I do not miss giving it up. (The terrible jingles from local used car dealers and services e.g.JG Wentworth, ugh loud & obnoxious) Or having to work to accommodate scheduled programming.

You tards are focused on the fireworks. Look at the commercials. Count the number of POC compared to non. There is a narrative being pushed.
1 Mr-Mediocre 2018-09-10
What is POC?

Watch the whole super bowl with the 'power outage'. So staged, I dont watch or care for teams anymore.
1 2peloHoney 2018-09-10
Orchestrated or not, it’s encouraging to see that their ratings continue to drop. Being glued to the set on the weekend watching football (a bunch of gorified piano movers push each other around on a field) is a monumental waste of time.
1 Kayki7 2018-09-10
With the amount of money invested, and generated by the NFL, it’s hard to imagine the games aren’t orchestrated
1 RingosBeardNumber9 2018-09-10
It's a business. Fans trade their money and attention for shits and giggles. Is it like TV wrestling? I don't think so. Too many moving parts. And I really don't think it needs to be a fixed event. When you have athletes really trying to excel and beat each other on a pro level, and competing to keep their jobs, it's pretty entertaining. Spontaneous stuff happens. Actions that delight several areas of the brain, and keep us wanting more.
Has a player or ref ever been corrupted by organized crime and thrown or influenced games. Yes.
1 FrankyEaton 2018-09-10
There is now way its rigged. The closest thing you could get to rigging it would be to have a ref team be compromised but even then they cant physically throw the ball or make a tackle.
1 StefanYellowCurry 2018-09-10
A lot of you complain about a lot of shit on here and need to maybe learn to appreciate the spoils of society.
1 ZioToons 2018-09-10
It wasn't a complaint, merely my own observations and thoughts. I'm open minded, just willing to think about all the possibilities. I appreciate that this entertainment exists and we're able to enjoy it, but it doesn't mean I don't want to question and ask others what they think about it.
1 AcidNewports 2018-09-10
This sounds like some Alex Jones bs. Yes sports are entertainment. Jones always goes off on how the NFL is purely a distraction and your dumb if you watch. It could be said InfoWars is entertainment and a distraction. Both are distrations and a waste of time if you allow them to be. Unfortunately one is designed to be entertainment the other is entertainment that masquerades as information/resistance.
1 its0nLikeDonkeyKong 2018-09-10
Bruh it's literally the modern equivalent of Roman coliseums.
Their purpose wasn't Alex jones bs then either...
1 AcidNewports 2018-09-10
Everything on T.V. is entertainment. Its all used as a distraction. When it comes to creating drama there is many ways to do it. One example is the "Make Up Call".
1 its0nLikeDonkeyKong 2018-09-10
I must've misunderstood my mistake! I agree it's all a distraction in one way or another
1 NomahRulez 2018-09-10
eh, it is what it is, an entertainment venue, and I do not believe it is at all rigged like pro wrestling -- you'd have heard something by now by some disgruntled 3rd string kicker released after a short time. People have watched human physical competition because it's entertaining and I think that's all there really is to it.

I have a completely unsubstantiated claim that the Patriots win so much because the NFL sets them up to do so. Why? So they can have a villain, or in WWE terms, a heel, so people tune in to watch them occasionally lose and get invested into watching the Patriots' rivals. They lose just enough to keep the games looking fair, but not enough to keep them from being the NFL's heel.
1 notyourreality 2018-09-10
Always hated them. Fuck the NFL. It's all brainwashing.
