What if all this censorship is done to purposefully lead us to VOAT?
1 2018-09-13 by CelderSrolls
People have been getting distrustful of Reddit for a while now. So what if they decided to start over again, under a new name called "Voat".
All the shills start saying "move to VOAT, it's better, really!" But the place is already filled with shills and bots, ready to pretend to be real people, knowing our guard may be down slightly.

My voat account is from 2014 when it was not even called voat. I've been wanting to leave reddit since then. I'm hopeful this time
1 yellowsnow2 2018-09-13
Ya mine was started in 2014 also. I don't remember what happened then. Probably shills and sub problems were causing an exodus.

Yea let’s leave Reddit and join the anti semetic and racist cesspool that is Voat /s
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
Freedom of speech is very uncomfortable huh?
1 luchovzla 2018-09-13
No, but having this community being branded intolerant and racist is.
You can support free speech and still condemn the stupid things people say.
1 IMA_Catholic 2018-09-13
When did you start supporting freedom of speech?
1 Ragawaffle 2018-09-13
I'm not who you were speaking to, but I felt the need to pipe up. Free speech doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the behavior I observed. I don't believe in censorship. I do know when I'm standing in the wrong room tho. There are better ways to express oneself than calling everyone a faggot or a nigger.
I don't believe in most of the conspiracies on this sub. I do value rational people who are willing to question the world around them though.
While I hate to generalize it seems the majority of the people on voat are doing us a disservice. We will all be lumped in together and as a result easily dismissed.
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
The rabbit hole is much deeper than you assume
1 Ragawaffle 2018-09-13
Dude, go back to commenting on youtube. That's not a fuckin reply
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
The fact that you don't understand what I mean doesn't make it any less if a reply.
1 Golisten2LennyWhite 2018-09-13
My acct is from whoaverse days too. The first exodus was from here in conspiracy way back in 2013.
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
What's up old timer

Are you the fuckin Oracle dude? Either say something or don't Not everyone you encounter on the internet is a Psychic Illuminati Samsquatch.
1 gustoreddit51 2018-09-13
I had an English teacher who hit us with the quote all the time;
"Obscurity is the refuge of the insecure."
1 gt- 2018-09-13
You showed your true hand I hope you know this
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
He's right, you feel the way you do because you were conditioned to reject the truth. Its a natural reaction that we all had once. Now the test of character is whether you abide by your conditioning, or whether you throw off you mental shackles and challenge what you were taught to believe.
1 Ragawaffle 2018-09-13
Whoa. You're right. I think I get it now.
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
People are reading "The Culture of Critique."
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
Better stay away from Voat then. Wouldn't want bad optics, just think about the stories that the (((mainstream media))) will write about us!
1 CubanB 2018-09-13
Or you know, you want to bring your friends into a community where people discuss the world freely, but they're not really into being called a f*t n*r.
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
Its nr ft, not ft nr
But if your friends are that sensitive then maybe they should just stick to Reddit, its a term of endearment.
1 sixrwsbot 2018-09-13
If they want to be racist that's on them, knock yourselves out, but I'll take a hard pass on being a part of that community. Freedom of speech doesn't mean I have to listen to any of it. People can say whatever the fuck they want just as I can choose to not engage with whoever I want.
I feel like a lot of people say their freedom of speech is being oppressed when in reality they're just upset that no ones listening to them spew bull shit.

far better the fantasy world reddit is championing.
i'd rather have the chance to be offended and respond in-kind than to be silenced or censored.
reddit thinks that if they ban dissenting thought, racist, homophobic, and sexist rhetoric, that they are the champions of everyday people.
everyday people know that no matter how many books or bridges you burn, the only person responsible for your behavior is yourself. i am everyday people.
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
Oy vey! Its like annuda shoah!
Its refreshing tbh, if you aren't "anti-semitic," then you are brainwashed.
1 luchovzla 2018-09-13
Then fuck off to Voat, Walt Disney.
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
I've been posting there for 3 years now, Moshe!
1 compromisedchristian 2018-09-13
Today I’ve signed up to VOAT - following The Great Awakening there
I don’t think it’s better than Reddit (as it’s awkward on a mobile phone - does anyone know if they do an app compatible with iPhones?) but if that’s the only place to go to get the info I’m willing to
I will be deleting my account on Reddit if The Donald is banned, and I hope many others will too
1 punisherfist 2018-09-13
Am I the only person who doesn't hate reddit? I still enjoy the conspiracy content on here. I looked at v/conspiracy on voat and it is dead.
1 sun-usta-be-yellow 2018-09-13
I bet you haven't been here for more than a year.
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
Probably
1 LogicalLarynx 2018-09-13
So, this is where you get your verbiage from. It's hilarious that I got to run into you again on the conspiracy subreddit, of all places!
Before you ask, the answer is morbid curiousity.
1 showcdp 2018-09-13
So funny.
1 LogicalLarynx 2018-09-13
I know, right?
1 everythingwas19 2018-09-13
I think it is more feasible that Reddit 'messies' up Voat. There is ALWAYS a comment about how voat is too racist and mean spirited every time someone says to exodus from Reddit. A lot of talk there and on the chans turns a lot of people off and keeps them here, no way Reddit does not bank on that.
1 luchovzla 2018-09-13
I think most of the GA folks are flocking to Voat, and they will be wallowing in that incubation tank of White supremacists, alt right extremists, Jew haters and racists.
If we all get sent to Voat, we’re gonna look so bad to the General public.
Stick together instead.
1 Spdrbrs823 2018-09-13
Some of them did good research and it was (imo) helpful to keep an eye on what the farthest gone of them believed, but I can only imagine what that site looks like right now.
1 cstrafe 2018-09-13
Well, what do people lose by going to Voat? Reddit is obviously controlled and manipulated.
If the same thing happens at Voat, we're in exactly the same spot we're in now. Voat is worth a shot in my opinion. It just doesn't have the rest of the community reddit has. I don't just come to reddit for conspiracies and politics. I browse many other completely unrelated subs. Voat really doesn't have much else going on.
1 nanoman25 2018-09-13
By far and actually comment I believe isn't a shrill or bot. Do I believe reddit is being tampered with, sure, do I believe it will fall to the shrills and bots, nah to big for that and too many people have called out who is bs'ing on here.(for the most part). Honestly I don't kniw what VOAT is and at thus point to lazy to care. Reddit is good. And to those wanting to split from reddit feel free to do so nobody really cares or will miss ya. Still to this day 4chan & reddit are the best.
1 cstrafe 2018-09-13
Voat is the same format as reddit. But, with a discourse somewhere between reddit and 4chan. That's the best way I can describe it.
1 illuminatisucz 2018-09-13
when they (same people) will buy out voat and turn it into reddit 2.0...where will you guys go?
1 FreonPurple 2018-09-13
The great thing about Voat is that everyone calls out the shills!
1 EitherOrMindset 2018-09-13
Anyone who disagrees? "Shill!" Magical.
1 EitherOrMindset 2018-09-13
2 weeks ago, one of the mods introduced another new Reddit clone. I'm not going to advertise for it, but they have all the "subreddit" real estate already created & controlled by about 5 guys. Hundreds of subreddits.
Strange timing.

Lol
1 d3rr 2018-09-13
Luckily there are a ton of reddit alternatives other than voat https://np.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/8585ox/list_of_active_reddit_alternatives/
Plug: https://saidit.net is founded by a well respected conspiracy contributor.
1 headshothoncho 2018-09-13
Maybe it's all a conspiracy to get us to go there
1 d3rr 2018-09-13
Good point. I think we should all fight the good fight in this sub but have a backup plan in mind.
1 gustoreddit51 2018-09-13
It'll be like Faceplant. All the thinking people will leave and what's left is another lowest common denominator handle for manufactured consent and polarization.
1 plateau2706 2018-09-13
Voat is the same as reddit, if any person can't see that, then it was inevitable they were going to be herded regardless.
1 alvarezg 2018-09-13
If I were to leave Reddit it wouldn't be to wallow in Voat's fascist drivel.
