Nationwide FEMA Test On 10/3/18, from 2:18 pm ET until 2:48 pm
1 2018-10-03 by T3Baron
FEMA will conduct a nationwide test of a Presidential Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) to assess the readiness of distributing a national message. The Presidential Alert is a mandatory, government issued test, and no one can opt out. Presidential Alerts will only be used in extreme situations in case of a nationwide emergency. The message will read: “This is a test of the Wireless Emergency Alert system. No action is required."
A few notes -
• The Presidential Alert is a mandatory, government issued test.
• Presidential Alerts are not text messages. Customers receiving a Presidential Alert will hear a tone and see an alert window with the message.
• The Alert is not issued by your wireless carrier, but carried over their network.
• Additional info. is available on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) website
• You can email FEMA at [FEMA-National-Test@fema.dhs.gov](mailto:FEMA-National-Test@fema.dhs.gov)<mailto:[FEMA-National-Test@fema.dhs.gov](mailto:FEMA-National-Test@fema.dhs.gov)> with any additional questions if needed.
• You cannot opt-out of Presidential Alerts.
• The US government requires that Presidential Alerts be available as a way to communicate with all Americans in case of a nationwide emergency.
• Presidential Alerts are free.

"You cannot opt-out of Presidential Alerts"

Watch it still work lol
1 UnseenPresence2016 2018-10-03
I'm almost curious to try exactly that.

1 antdude 2018-10-03
Did it work? :P
1 Tha_Dude_Abidez 2018-10-03
You have a phone you can do that with? Most do not. I chucked my smartphone a few years back. Fuck em.
1 jaydwalk 2018-10-03
Still can turn it off though yeah?
1 Tha_Dude_Abidez 2018-10-03
Not really, if it has a battery. I have a flip phone.
1 jaydwalk 2018-10-03
In general though, we can all just turn our phones off.
1 Bodhisattva9001 2018-10-03
There are ways malware/spyware can make it seem like your phone is off, when it's not.
1 jaydwalk 2018-10-03
Got any source on that malware?
1 Bodhisattva9001 2018-10-03
Its the same thing they do with Samsung smart TVs.
You don't really need a source, if something is possible. It's probably being done, and obviously its really easy to make malicious code that makes it appear your phone is shutting down, when it's not.
Here's an article about one such malware though.

1 antdude 2018-10-03
Well, the best way to turn it off is remove its power source. ;)
1 jaydwalk 2018-10-03
Yeah but most can't do that.
1 antdude 2018-10-03
Yeah. :( I am curious if fully power off with battery still charged and connected would still get the president alerts.
1 jaydwalk 2018-10-03
I almost did it to see what would happen. The forgot about it.
1 antdude 2018-10-03
DOH! Go back in time! :P
1 antdude 2018-10-03
Assuming you can do that easily. :(

Is anyone else thinking of the movie The Kingsman? When they activated that tone and everyone went crazy?
It’s possible I’ll be telling my mom to turn her phone off while she’s watching my son tomorrow... just in case...
1 Harbinger707 2018-10-03
hahaha well now I am
1 ajenkinskc 2018-10-03
Or the book "Cell" by Stephen King.
1 ThisIsMy1stRodeo 2018-10-03
Was that the inspiration for that movie with Jennifer Lopez and Vincent D’onfrio?
1 ajenkinskc 2018-10-03
No. That was "The" Cell. They did make a movie of this one. Not good. With Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack

Imagine if someone hacked the system and made a very scary realistic scenario that was hard to obviously independently verify. The panic itself alone would cause the s to htf.
1 Roadrunner0530 2018-10-03
Was the Hawaii tsunami alert a few months back a hack, a prank, or an accident?
1 T3Baron 2018-10-03
This may shed some light. https://www.tttruth.com/hawaii-missile-alert-not-what-it-seems-says-former-cia-op/
1 Occams-shaving-cream 2018-10-03
Sounds like bullshit.
The missile alert, the solar observatory, solar minimums, the deep state narrative, “yan/laur”, elite secure bunkers, national alert system test, space force, Korean peace, tic-tac video...
Something big is about to happen, something that those aware of want to control knowledge of, want to be sure they can send different info to different people, something that they want people to be distracted from, something that when it happens they want to able to steer a lot of people into danger instead of away from...
Dunno what, but something is fucking building up and it is not likely something that is good.
1 Bodhisattva9001 2018-10-03
Did you really just reference yanny/laurel saying that has something to do with "something big about to happen"
Really dude.
Really?
1 Occams-shaving-cream 2018-10-03
Well I rolled my eyes hard for months over the posts about it here, but maybe there was some truth to something about it... it was worth adding if I am discussing the use of a system that could give different people different information without it necessarily being obvious.

Volcanic activity is increasing everywhere, and there's 3 super volcanoes in the us. That asteroid is supposed to pass by tomorrow too. It's weird enough it's at 2:18, and lasts 30 mins
1 Detached09 2018-10-03
Right. You'd think a text message wouldn't take half an hour.
1 King_Richard3 2018-10-03
People have been saying “something big is about to happen” for at least the past 5 years.
1 Occams-shaving-cream 2018-10-03
FTFY, and I am aware “the end is always near”. At the same time, I don’t believe in total coincidence when we are seeing things like that massive warning system “error” (whatever the fuck it was) in HI and then the test rollout of a nation wide version of the system in the same year.
Clearly something is going on, but what it is? Average citizens like ourselves attempting to divine he motives of those in power is like the fleas contemplating the motives of the dog.
1 ajenkinskc 2018-10-03
Well, 5 years isn't very long in the grand scheme of things. And "about" is a relative term.
Soooo....no matter what they are right?
1 antdude 2018-10-03
More like forever.
1 Anonobotics 2018-10-03
True but we dont know the timescale they are operating on.
1 Anonobotics 2018-10-03
It was an experiment put on in a secluded and controlled area. With no way to spread the panic, with the exception of social media which is heavily controlled.
1 seastatefive 2018-10-03
Have you considered the possibility that the Hawaii missile alert was working perfectly and that a missile was actually fired at Hawaii?
After eliminating all the options, whatever remains, however improbable, must be true.
1 Roadrunner0530 2018-10-03
No, I hadn't. I remember a plane blowing up in air on the East Coast years ago and some footage of what some folks said might be a surface to air missile. I recall some stories said many witnesses had seen that too. The official story was quite different after the investigation.
1 antdude 2018-10-03
Or someone with access to abuse it.
1 thirdeyeherbivore 2018-10-03
Anyone else just going to take their SIM out for an hour or what?
1 Bodhisattva9001 2018-10-03
Except you not really gonna do it.
1 thirdeyeherbivore 2018-10-03
I can't, I don't have a SIM. So I'm fucked.
1 Apolitical_Corrector 2018-10-03
Unlike the People.
1 Eywadevotee 2018-10-03
What was odd is as soon as the alert started re sun flashed bluish white for a few seconds.
1 Anonobotics 2018-10-03
If thats true....having everyone look at there phones would be a great way to prevent panic from seeing it.
1 antdude 2018-10-03
I just got this on my iPhone 4S at 11:18 AM PDT. :/
1 GhostOfTheSuwannee 2018-10-03
No FEMA message appeared on my smartphone today. My provider is an MVNO. I was in rural mid Florida at the time.
1 T3Baron 2018-10-03
I got nailed right at 11:18 Android T-Mobile It came across like a weather alert. One "bing".
