I like NordVPN

There was some post here a month or two ago calling out NordVPN for their parent company apparently being a data mining firm.

Buyer beware.

True, I'm very conflicted about Nord being that close to a data gathering firm and hearing it all described as coincidence. VPN in general is you trusting a company that's not your ISP with your data (mostly site names and metadata now), so often any VPN is better than none at all.

thanks for this i just found out mine is one of the worst.

Don't worry that was just a smear campaign made up by competitors. NordVPN isn't doing any activity that includes data mining. Competitors just tried to use a very shady marketing strategy to make NordVPN lose their customers, it's sad that people actually believe in it.

I usually go with the VPN services that are at the top of the list of EFF donors.

This could be sarcasm but im not sure ? Is EFF a trusted movement?

Yes, absolutely. Go check them out.

the best VPN is to not give a shit about glow in the darks and buy an AR.

i have an AR

but my ISP still knows i watch anime

Make a *Pi-Hole, blocks ALL ad data before it even touches your network and blocks ALL trackers before they start, if you're using VPN's for streaming sites like HULU and Netflix I wouldn't bother giving you a name as it will likely be blocked a week down the line. Building a Pi-Hole is cheaper than 2mths subscription to a premium VPN.

That seems pretty cool and all, but blocking ads isn't why people want to use a vpn.

Well the main reason for VPN is to hide activity, avoid data mining and access things blocked in their country, Pi-Hole does all but unblock certain sites, but that's why I have a pi-hole and use a free VPN on top if a website is blocked in my region.

I love windscribe. works great, lots of choices of countries and even has an app for my Iphone when I am on a public wifi.

CitizenVPN with HQ in Bahamas, no logging and the Android app is good.

Here's another good resource. Take its top rated services with a grain of salt, but they've done some serious research on the honesty of VPN providers.

Private Internet Access is by far.

Ive used them 2 years without anything negative to say.

Hows the speed? any connection issues?

My speed tests often show it faster with this vpn on.

I will second this, I've been using them for years, no problems, good speed etc. Also you can pick server location from many states and countries. So you want to watch that BBC video that you can't watch in the USA? Log in to the UK server and your good to go.

I've never heard a bad word about them, but everyone should be aware, for VPNs in general, all your data is going through their computer.

The government created the internet. You're not fooling anyone.

ProtonVPN works well for me in USA

Look for something that doesn't log your activity. (VPN Comparison Chart](https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/)

I like ZOOG VPN because they support routers with DD-WRT, which allows your router to connect directly.

Private Internet Access if good enough for anyone who needs to ask(keeps the ISP off my back about torrenting, and most likely any non-government or alphabet agency hackers, let's be honest, they will find 99.99% of us, and a vpn is useless, . Anyone who needs more privacy or security wouldn't need to ask as they'd configure their own setup on throw-away raspberry-pies or whatnot.
