I hate to say it, but corporations have taken control of the WH. Freedom is dying, and if the people don't stop this takeover, we'll all be very very fucked.

The worst part is freedom is an illusion which people believe we have, I can't even smoke a jay without going to jail.

Whether BP was actually able to shut down web sites or not is debatable but the mainstream media has clearly watered down the news on what BP is doing.

For instance, they are prohibiting the clean up crews from wearing respirators even if the workers bring their own! Many of the workers are now in intensive care because their bodies are filled with toxic chemicals. Why isn't this all over the news? It isn't even being reported on NPR!

Corporate control of the media is (in my opinion) the main reason why they are able to get away with such horrendous crimes.

Here's a link to a Democracy Now story on this: BP Preventing Fishermen from Wearing Respirators

npr is just a mouthpiece for the cfr. read up on the cfr stances and you will notice that all of the stances npr takes reflect these. i do listen to npr exclusively, but there is a lot of eye rolling on my part some of the time.

So's DN. That's the word, at least. I can't help but get the feeling that the Amy Goodman/RNC thing was staged.

Internet: The fix is in .

seems to be working for me.

It is strange that that site is down.

isnt it more likely that the site got so overwhelmed and was costing so much that the owner had to close it down temporarily?

I might have thought this first, but apparently it's a trend where several such sites went down within the past day.

Which wouldn't be too surprising considering that BP is a hot topic currently. Smaller sites probably don't have a lot of bandwidth to deal with the hits.

Host might be assuming a flood due to reddit traffic, they just need better hosting.

It was down for several hours before it was posted on reddit.
