/r/conspiracy is controlled by voting bots
25 2011-08-22 by souperduper
People downvote certain websites and topics without so much as a comment or even clicking the link!!! If that isn't ironclad proof of systematic manipulation I don't know what is.
Anyone know a platform we can fall back on?

My blog posts are downvoted every time I post them on /r/conspiracy
Must be a conspiracy

Sort by "new", not "hot", and tah-dah! Up or down votes don't matter!
You're welcome.

Great point. Controversial is a good place to look for buried articles as well

In the last few weeks we have had front pages like I have never seen before. It was two Jon Stewart links as the top post the other day that finally drove the fact home for me that this subreddit is being gamed (in the past I think it was generally ignored).
We are also starting to get spammed by the usual suspects: Businessinsider, Thinkprogress, Guardian UK, and Dailymail to name a few. People just need to keep bringing this up and pay attention to who is submitting from the spam sites

The voting bots are also being controlled by voting bots

I wouldn't be suprised, infact it makes sense. Reddit is an amazing site that is great at promoting ideas, news, concepts, and opinions better than most sites on the interwebs. I believe some people in power would see this as a huge threat. It's always struck me at strange at how poorly this subredit performs. I image TPTB wouldn't want the /r/conspiracy reddit to actually promote outside the box thinking, and truth seeking to the masses.

God damn, this subreddit is hilarious.

lol, dude that is evidence of nothing. If the article is shit or the thought is dumb it's going to be downvoted without anyone explaining why, usually.

So you can tell an article is shit without reading? Interesting
2 SHAGGSTaRR 2011-08-22
This implies paying enough attention to the content to form an opinion, so I don't get why you're presuming they're not being read. Why are you so sure some submissions are simply unread?

I can skim it and downvote accordingly...

Good to know you can't be bothered to actually read and instead read headlines and pretend you understand it. Way to perpetuate all of the ills of our culture!

Think of how much information the typical reddit user gets inundated with daily. Just because he's not reading endthelie.com religiously doesn't mean he's some sort of everything that I don't like with these guys I live among made flesh.

where's the like button?

You are not so important that people feel the need to silence you. See also: delusions of grandeur. The hard truth is that no one really gives a shit what you have to say. The sooner you realize that the better off you will be.

If I see yet another "Jews caused 9/11" or "WTC7 was faked because this YouTube video has creepy music" link, there's no need to comment or click the link before downvoting.
Really, I give new topics the benefit of the doubt. But some posts, especially from certain posters, are obviously a waste of time.
-3 souperduper 2011-08-22
I'm not speaking of those types of things at all. I agree with you on that front
-1 RogerStrong 2011-08-22
Fair enough.

Umm....if you consider that ironclad proof of anything I know that you're a conspiracy theorist.
6 souperduper 2011-08-22
So hundreds of downvotes and no clicks is normal? Lol
2 77_65_65_64 2011-08-22
if it happens, it's because you only post from your blog. some people think that is auto "blog-spam".
1 souperduper 2011-08-22
Oh okay, I forgot you had access to website statistics for every website on the Internet. Good to know.

You do actually only submit stuff from endthelie.com though.
