Media blackout of NDAA?
40 2011-12-03 by snailspace
Google NDAA or National Defense Authorization Act and see what you find.
Articles from HuffPo, Christian Science Monitor, the ACLU, wikipedia and the bill tracker.
Bing search? Bill tracker and articles from the World Socialist Web Site, infowars.com and wikipedia.
Go to CNN.com and do a search there: Nothing.
MSNBC? Nothing.
ABC News? Nothing.
CBS News? Nothing.
Fox News? A single article titled: Should the Military Be Allowed to Detain Americans Indefinitely? that gives plenty of room for Lindsey Graham to make his case against Americans.
It looks to me like there is a media blackout surrounding the NDAA and what it means for all Americans...

I think the OP is saying: The main stream news sources only show us Americans what "we are supposed to be seeing," and the NDAA isn't something that we are supposed to be thinking about right now.

Except they are covering it.

OP is just really bad at finding articles.

Over 1,000 results in Google news.
First Google search result is a Wikipedia entry explaining exactly what it is. Other results on first page are dot gov and us sites all explaining NDAA.
I am in Canada.

Then since you're from Canada, you might not have seen the statistic that came out late last month showing that over 50% of Americans still get their news from the major networks that haven't said word one about the NDAA.
The fact that networks aren't even trying to spin this in to the typical anti-Obama or anti-Republican drivel is incredibly telling for Americans that have been paying attention.

Are any of the sites from mainstream news or corporate media?
edit: I already mentioned the wikipedia entry and blogs in the OP, what I'm more interested in knowing is the MSM coverage (which it looks like is non-existent)

CNN and CBS have covered it although they're defending it and claiming it won't be used on Americans. Don't search NDAA, that's not the proper name. Search S.1867

Can't trust the MSM, as you see, they only present things that they want. They can't be trusted.

It's time to stop noting which stories are being blacked out and start using social media and alternative media to cover it.

But please, go with the fearmongering "MSM is censoring this".

MSNBC? FOX? ABC? CBS? CNN? The major news networks are NOT reporting what is actually going on. In the OP I mentioned that the more independent outlets have articles on the NDAA: CSM, WaPo for example but the point I was trying to get across was the realization that the main sources of news for most Americans are all staying curiously mute about NDAA.

Yes, they are. Stop your misinformation.

These stories are all several days old, so this is nothing new. Maybe you should actually do some research before you post inflammatory and wrong headlines such as yours. That doesn't get upvotes, though.

I am glad to see that someone is doing their research. Could you possibly find some clips from TV? I don't get to watch it 24x7 (and it wouldn't matter if I could because of how much is replays and irrelevant trash like Pierce Morgan), but have honestly seen nothing on Fox, MSNBC, or CNN about this... and we're talking at least 40 hours of news this week (classes are winding down, I've been playing a shit-ton of Skyrim, and I have my DVR's news shows running in the background almost nonstop).
edit: and yes, I have also done much google, reddit, and youtube searching for this already. I'm not just asking for a favor cause I'm too lazy to find this myself, I'm just honestly NOT seeing this anywhere offline.

I went to those websites and search engines and searched for the terms "NDAA" and "National Defense Authorization Act" and posted the results. Here are the headlines from the links you posted:
Senate Approves $662 Billion Defense Bill
Senate passes defense bill with detainee policy compromise
US Senate approves $662 billion defense bill
Senate OKs $662B defense bill despite veto threat
The articles do briefly touch on the implications for "suspect" American citizens but the headline and message focuses more on the passage of the bill rather than its contents. This doesn't seem like an incredibly important piece of legislation is being under-reported and buried under the usual bullshit? Look at the front pages of those websites and tell the suspension of the 4th Amendment is being actively and accurately reported on by those "news" corporations.
As for karma: I couldn't care any less about internet points, I just want people to take notice of what is going on and what the NDAA means for our country. This is my first post at /conspiracy because I thought this community might be better at looking into what is going on behind the scenes than others and I am not disappointed.
