Reddit is going away soon if SOPA passes. Where are we going to go to keep this going?

Fuck that. You Americans can run a darknet, the rest of us will just use the Internet as it should be. If Advance publications doesn't host Reddit overseas then Reddit is open source, someone will launch a new copy somewhere in the world.

We can't do anything to stop it.

Except starting a revolution.

A violent one.

Gentle one could do as well. We'll drown them with our love.

Yeah, that works. Not.

And violent revolution always works; those military coup leaders always have the best interest of the people in mind. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's was a shining example of the success of boycotts and mass peaceful unrest. However, they did have their share of militant groups in preparation of violent suppression. With transparent civilian coordination, such groups could certainly be of benefit as 'watchdogs' of liberty. Such an organization would have to be massive to hold any sway, however.

Now that's downright funny!

All of a sudden my HAM radio license and the thousands spent on equipment isn't such a dorky thing.

Create an irc chatroom? Universities?

If reddit goes down, I'm bugging out though. Got some high angle psyops planned for my way out of town, then it's sere time.

TO THE DEEPNET!

Host reddit offshore, visit site through IP # instead of domain name. np.

Public libraries is my answer. They house Government documents, have chairs and rooms for you to discuss issues... I think it's too late for Governments to deprive citizens information, there is a zest for knowledge in people who understand the power of the Internet.

Won't work, reddit has power because it can educate people all over the world and allows people to tell stories they would otherwise not hear. Simply having access to a library would still deprive you of thousands of stories and is of course no help to anyone esle.

Dust off the dial-up modems??

Could just reopen reddit on co.uk or some other suffix.....

The streets

There are already lots of conspiracy themed sites out there. The question is which one would be able to handle a massive increase in traffic? I would nominate the David Icke forum has one possible surrogate website.

Don't confuse his ideas with his forum.

whatever your opinion is on the Icke forum, the admins there have been competent enough to keep it going and functioning in spite of some major hacking attacks on it. So in that context it is a suitable "haven" if r/conspiracy goes down along with the rest of reddit.

I am open to other suggestions and websites as well. Its good to plan ahead in advance of any censorship.
