Gulf of Tonkin, operation Ajax, operation Gladio, operation Northwoods, operation fast and furious, world government(its in all the publications these days), Bilderberg that it actually is real(its in all the media right now and they even got their own website), Bohemian Grove(again all MSM has had to cover it and admit its real), WMD's in Iraq(confirmed to be lie now), Al-Qaeda/Osama did 9/11(even the govt. own reports don't mention al-qaeda, FBI doesn't mention them), Agenda 21 being conspiracy theory and not real(now its all public and all countries follow it) and thousands more

Main stream implies that it is information broadcast on the major media news outlets. The mainstream media has gone from dozens of smaller owners down to 5 or 6 owners. This consolidation of the media has turned mainstream news outlets into the bullhorn of the largest corporations. Many of these large corporations are doing things which are harmful to the average citizen but beneficial to their bottom line. The end result is the news you hear on CNN is deemed acceptable and will not anger or offend the folks at head office.
I think many people are realizing MSM, in general, is the news source with an agenda and major filtration. You seem to imply that a fact must be accepted and broadcast by a corrupt, self serving media outlet to be considered accurate. If this is part of your platform of approval for something being legitimate or not, I would suggest there is something seriously wrong with your platform and litmus test.

Every war the U.S. or Israel has ever been in
1 TomSwirly 2012-08-08
That isn't a conspiracy theory: "A secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful."
There's nothing secret about Israel invading [insert name of neighboring country here]. Nor do they claim they are doing it for humanitarian reasons.
These wars are wrong, and illegal, and offensive, but not conspiracies.
See my list elsewhere on this page.

If the conspiracy is not in the event of war itself (and it always is) it is in the way the events take place. Faking attacks by Hamas and then retaliating, I say would qualify as secretly doing unlawful things and then doing even more unlawful things as a response.
Every war in US history has been planned, in advance, by a small number of wealthy individuals.
edit: To clarify WWI, WWII it was our entry into the war that was planned in advance. And propaganda was used to stir up nationalistic sentiment just like always.

You have to do your own research and use google. If you don't know where to start - here a few terms you can try. Behind each term stands also a conspiracy. Many of these conspiracies are IMHO either reported as a limited hangout, or almost totally underreported. But all have been confirmed by trials, Senate/Congress-Hearings or official reports.
COINTELPRO, HSCA more than one shooter, MLK Memphis trial 1999, Operation Mockingbird, Iran Contra, Phoenix Program, the Mafia, asbestos is a health hazard, tobacco is a health hazard, Tuskegee/Guatemala Syphilis study, Project MKNAOMI, MKDELTA, nurse Nayirah, CIA asset behind crack cocaine epidemy in L.A., Operation Gladio, CIA assassinations, Operation Paperclip, BCCI, SCUA, Project ARTICHOKE, Project CHATTER, Operation Susannah, Operation Menu, Downingstreet Memo, Yellowcake forgeries, Office of Special Plans, Jessica Lynch rescue

Does the Pat Tillman death story count?
5 drunkenshrew 2012-08-08
In my opinion yes. Not one with a great impact, but the cover up was not done by one men alone. It was a conspiracy to mislead the public and Tillman's relatives. There are still some questions why and how he was killed. Like the Jessica Lynch story, his tragedy was used by the PR machine of the Pentagon.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_streetcar_conspiracy - proven in court.
9/11 - whether you buy the official story (where a small group of radical Muslims conspired to destroy the WTC) or not.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Contra_affair - again, proven in court.
Oh, I found a nice list that has several that I intended to include: http://www.cracked.com/article_15974_7-insane-conspiracies-that-actually-happened.html

The people posting here seem to suggest that proof is predicated on some official state release. I suggest the truth exist separate of the state.

usually the conspiracies are exposed without any prior theory. i.e nobody had conspiracy theories about the manhattan project, but look at the sheer scale of it!
1 seanbearpig 2012-08-08
Google it. No, seriously. Google it. It's not hard.

Well, the OP is asking us because he respects our opinion over whatever website he finds randomly. Take it as a compliment. OP isn't lazy just trusts our opinion (for some reason)
edit: on second thought, might be a troll...
3 seanbearpig 2012-08-08
I usually either bank on lazy, or troll.

thank you for the reply, I really wanted to know when I asked the question. I got so many results from Google and most of them where similar and so I posted here to get a better picture.

This question is asked here every other day. They think they can discredit this sub by asking us to prove which conspiracies have been proven. If they got their drug addled heads out of their asses and did a little research while also paying attention to the world, they would know which conspiracies are true and which have been proven.
3 eachothersunderwear 2012-08-08
as someone who is genuinely interested in the responses to this question, in my opinion is not trying to discredit the subredit, but find out what "conspiracies" the "conspiracy theorists" believe to the true or false.
we all know here that many of the news outlets are unreliable or are heavily moderated and tend to only report half of the story if any of it is actually true. so by asking a community that is suspicious from the beginning and determines a conspiracy that is true/false they are trying to find truth.
what other sources would you reccomend to trust to tell you if a conspiracy theory is true or not? the mainstream media? some random google page that could have been created by a schill?
2 [deleted] 2012-08-08
They could also be signs of disinfo

The only problems with recent acts of conspiracy are secrecy, culture engineering and propaganda active in keeping it UNofficial.
